§11.4 · CAPABILITY · 3 MIN READ · EDITION 1.0
Retaining competency records
A record of who completed which training, assessment or practical exercise should be retained on the same schedule as other quality-competency records, not left inside a learning platform no one else can query.
When an assessor evaluates whether a use case had a competent reviewer, a retrievable competency record is the evidence; a verbal assurance that "they've done the training" is not.
Treat competency records the same way operator qualification records are treated elsewhere in the quality system: retained, retrievable, and reviewed on a defined cycle.
PUT THIS INTO PRACTICE
- 01Retain competency records on the organisation's standard retention schedule.
- 02Make records retrievable by an assessor without platform-specific access.
- 03Review competency currency on a defined cycle, not only at hire.
