What AI is for in quality
AI improves the speed, coverage, consistency and preventive capability of an existing quality process. It does not replace that process or the person who owns its decision.
A useful AI capability strengthens one defined quality-process step and produces evidence that a competent person can understand, review and defend. In wind energy, the consequence of a missed defect can include rework at height, vessel or crane delay, serial containment, a field campaign and long-term reliability impact.
Control should follow the consequence of the use case, not the excitement around the technology. A drafting aid and a capability that influences product release do not carry the same governance burden.
